Projects??
By J. Whalen
If you consider learning how to save a file or watch a movie a "project" -- then this is the "how to" book for you. But when I think of projects, I do not consider learning how to turn-on my iPad "a project". I expected this book to let me know how to create things, make things, do interesting work with my iPad. Instead, this is really a "guide" on operating the device. It doesn't present "projects" in the creative spirit of the word. This book should have been titled, "The iPad Operation Guide" -- because that's all it is.

Perfect for iPad owners that ask: Now what do I do with this magic and revolutionary device?
By Dave Greenbaum
Unlike most other how-to books that cover all the potential features, training and troubleshooting, this book exclusively focuses on getting things done. This book is not for those who want to learn how to use an iPad, rather it's about learning how to do stuff with an iPad. Of course we love our iPads for remote surfing and email, but what else can we do?
The authors go through some introductory subjects such as cloud syncing and security tips then move on to using Dropbox, iTunes and Documents-to-go to manage productivity for the standard office suite. Then they move on to using multiple applications to planning an entire party - including recipes, shopping list and invitations - via the iPad. Finally, they cover creating flash cards, planning vacations, as well as a variety of audio and video tips and tricks. Most helpful is the last series of chapters that explain how to move DVD content to your iPad.
If you've ever said "I have an iPad, now what?" this the book for you. Even though I'm an experienced iPad user, the book had some great ideas and sparked some new ones. Some of the ideas I already knew, but had to learn the hard way. I highly recommend this book for iPad users who wonder what else they can do with their magical and revolutionary devices.
Pros: Outstanding ideas about taking your iPad to the next level
Cons: Absolutely none

Not really projects, but a great book nonetheless...
By John M. Schofield
An earlier reviewer criticized this book because it's not "projects" per his definition -- and while I agree with him, I disagree with his conclusion.
When I think of a "project" book for the iPad I think about, for instance controlling my home-made robot with an iPad. (I don't actually have a home-made robot.) This isn't that kind of book. Instead, it's a clear, concise, well-written guide to everything that the normal user would want to do with their iPad. I'm quite the geek, so some of the book wasn't new to me, but I still found many sections telling me how to do stuff I didn't know how to do (and a few telling me how to do stuff I didn't know was possible).
Plus, it gets extra points for being clear and concise -- many tech book are written by the inch, literally -- the publisher specifies a spine width to make the book show up on bookstore shelves, and the author has to write enough to fill that space, whether or not the topic needs it. This book is slim, but that's because the authors wrote as much as they needed to, and then stopped. No fluff in this one.
Highly recommended.
