Worthless

A student 'solutions' manual is supposed to help students by providing step by step solutions in solving problems. This is the best way to learn and it ultimately instills a level of confidence in the student. Unfortunately, this manual provides one with the correct answer but rarely details the reasoning and methods used to achieve the result. Like many of the examples in the text (which is horribly written), the solutions seem to be pulled out of thin air. I didn't sign up for a class in magic.
Why is it so hard to write a book that systematically works through a problem? It's a shame that such an interesting subject doesn't have authors who understand this.

not bad, but not great either

This solution manual provides answers only for odd numbered problems which are already in the back of the book. When using this book and trying to answer even numbered problems it is helpful to reference odd numbered problems of the same type. That way you can see the steps and try the question for yourself. That said the book was still helpful because it shows how to do the problems, and does not just give the answer, unless the problem only requires an answer with no work. Sometimes the notation was hard to follow, but if you are taking a statistics class of this level you should now the notation anyways.

Better than nothing, but close to nothing

It's not a very good solution manual. It has typos, and it's obvious the write was lazy and skipped a lot of steps. IE: A question asks for a solution and a graph, and the manual ignores the graph.
It's better than nothing, but it's not far from nothing.
